Ride Details
The MinorTaur is the only intermediate Blue Route at Coed y Brenin that was built to bridge the gap between easy green trails and the more technical reds. At only around 8km in length, you can easily complete it in a short session and is perfectly suited to beginners looking to up their technical skills a level and families looking for a day out on their mountain bike.
The MinorTaur is an accessible trail, designed for adaptive mountain biking. It paralells Yr Afon trail for most of the distance, meaning you can chop and change between the two if you decide you need to drop a grade.
The trail is built in three loops that get gradually longer, so you can choose your distance as well as build your confidence gradually on the more technical sections and easily revert to joining Yr Afon trail if needed.

Base Summary: Coed-y-brenin – Snowdonia
Coed y Brenin was the UK’s first purpose built trail centre, and following a revamp in 2013 remains one of the best in the country. With trails ranging from the Black – Beast, to easier Blue routes such as MinorTaur and family friendly green Yr Afon, there’s something for all abilities. You can also head off on the many miles of forestry tracks, which are as easy as it gets.
